Flights aren't included in our trip prices, so you book your own once your place is confirmed. Below: which airport every trip starts and ends at, what time to land, and a search that finds the flights for you.
International flights are not included in our trip prices. You book them yourself, which means you can fly from any airport, with any airline, and use your air miles if you have them. Here is how it works:
A week before your trip starts, we send you your airport transfer information.
Tell us where you're flying from and pick your trip's airport. We open the search on Skyscanner, which compares airlines and travel sites to find the cheapest fares.
Many of our trips finish in a different city to where they start. Tick My trip ends in a different city and it searches both flights together as one multi-city ticket.
Every one of our 103 trips, with the airport to fly into on day 1 and the one to fly home from on the last day.

No. You book your own flights to the start of your trip and home from the end, so you can fly from wherever suits you. If a trip includes an internal flight between two stops on the route, it is listed on that trip's page under what's included.
After your place is confirmed. Wait for our confirmation email, which tells you when to arrive and when you can leave, then book. Booking before that risks a ticket that doesn't match your trip.
On most of our trips we recommend landing before 4pm on day 1. Hotel check-in is usually from 2pm, and if you get there earlier you can leave your bags and use the hotel while you wait. Your confirmation email and the trip's Useful Information tab give the exact advice for your trip.
Yes, just make sure you're at the trip's first hotel on day 1. We can book extra nights there for you: log in and add them under Extra Trips. On many trips the airport transfer is then arranged for your earlier arrival too.
Most trips finish after breakfast on the last day, so an afternoon or evening flight is the easy choice. A few need longer: on our Japan trips, allow for the train back to Tokyo and don't book an international flight before 5pm. The trip's Useful Information tab has the details.
It depends on the trip. The table on this page lists the airport to fly into and the airport to fly home from for every trip we run, and whether the airport transfer is included. After you book, the same airports are shown in your account under Flight Details.
A multi-city (open-jaw) ticket: fly into the city where the trip starts and home from the city where it ends. For example, Backpacking Vietnam starts in Hanoi and finishes in Ho Chi Minh City. Tick My trip ends in a different city in the search above, or press Find flights next to the trip in the table, and Skyscanner searches both flights together.
Log in to your account, open your booking and go to Flight Details. Add your arrival and departure flight numbers and times. That is what we use to arrange your airport pick-up, and a week before the trip we send you your transfer information.
Yes, travel insurance is compulsory on all our trips, and your group leader will ask to see proof of your policy when you arrive (on your phone is fine). We recommend SafetyWing. It is worth checking your policy covers flight delays and missed connections too.
