Day 1

Arrive in Tokyo: Winter Welcome Night

Touch down in Tokyo and settle into your hostel before the group comes together for a welcome dinner of authentic Japanese cuisine. Once evening crowds have thinned, we head out to explore the iconic Senso-ji Temple lit up after dark, a fitting first taste of Japan in winter.

Tokyo Highlights: Harajuku, Yoyogi Park & Akihabara

Start the morning with a Japan orientation briefing before diving into Harajuku, the birthplace of Japan's teen pop culture. Wander through Yoyogi Park and its peaceful Meiji Shrine, then spend the evening exploring Akihabara's neon-lit arcades and electronics stores.

Day 3

Sushi Making Class & Shibuya Crossing

Roll up your sleeves for a hands-on sushi-making class, learning to prepare miso soup, hand-rolled sushi and the secrets of teriyaki. By evening we head to Shinjuku for skyline views before witnessing the buzz of the famous Shibuya Crossing.

Hakone: Mount Fuji Views & the Romance Car

Board the scenic Romance Car up to the mountain town of Hakone. Spend the day exploring the surrounding area in search of postcard views of snow-capped Mount Fuji, weather permitting, before winding down with a traditional nabe hot pot dinner at your guesthouse.

Kyoto: The Golden Pavilion & Samurai Kendo Class

Day 8

Kyoto to Osaka & Dotonbori Food Tour

Enjoy a free morning to explore Kyoto before we catch the train to Osaka, the legendary "Kitchen of Japan." After checking in, you'll have some free time to discover the city. In the evening, we’ll dive into a mouth-watering food tasting tour through the neon-lit streets of Dotonbori. Get ready to experience the incredible flavors, vibrant culture, and electric energy that make Osaka famous!

Osaka to Nagano

Spend your morning checking out the impressive Osaka Castle before we grab our bags and board the train to Nagano. Famous for hosting the 1998 Winter Olympics, Nagano is surrounded by world-class ski fields. In the winter, it transforms into a snow-covered wonderland, complete with frost-dusted trees and breathtaking mountain views!

Nagano Snow Monkeys & Onsens

We're up early to head to Jigokudani Monkey Park, arriving just as it opens to beat the crowds. After a scenic winter walk, you’ll get your first look at the famous red-faced Snow Monkeys relaxing in the natural hot springs! Afterward, enjoy some free time in the magical onsen town of Yudanaka—soak in the warm thermal waters, crisp winter air, or sample some local sake. In the evening, we’ll meet up for an epic farewell karaoke night to celebrate our final night together!

Back to Tokyo & Goodbye!

Day 11: Nagano to Hakuba – Ski & Snowboard Begins

After breakfast, transfer to Hakuba, home to some of Japan's best ski terrain. Collect your gear and hit the slopes with a 3-day lift pass at the expansive Happo One resort.

Day 12 - 13: Hakuba – Full Day Ski & Snowboard

Spend a full day carving through Hakuba's renowned powder snow, with runs suited to every level from first-timers to advanced riders, plus off-piste terrain for the more adventurous.

Day 14: Hakuba to Tokyo – Extension Ends

Head back to Nagano Station and board the train to Tokyo, where your Japan winter ski adventure comes to a close.
