Backpacking Croatia: Sailing Adventure is a 10-day small-group sailing trip through 7 stops, from $2,819 per person with a $350 deposit. You sail the Adriatic to Makarska, Mljet, Korčula and Hvar, take in Dubrovnik and finish at the Krka waterfalls. For solo travellers aged 20-45, in groups of 6-20, with 15 meals. Departures run from 18 September 2026.
The Croatia tour was SOOO much fun, such a wide variety of stops and activities so really made it very easy to cater to what specific interests people had, whether that be hiking, sightseeing or the nightlife. Welcome to Croatia! After you land in Split, we’ll meet you at the hostel near the Old Town. Take some time to settle in and relax before meeting your group and guide. In the evening, we’ll head out for dinner and drinks to start the adventure with great vibes.
Start the morning with a walking tour through Split’s Roman ruins and buzzing markets. After lunch, it’s time to board your home for the week: a premium sailing boat with ensuite cabins and a sun deck. We cruise to Makarska with a swim stop on the way. Dock, explore the town, and grab a cocktail by the beach.
After breakfast on deck, we sail to the lush island of Mljet. Stop for a swim in a secluded bay before docking at the park entrance. Hop on a bike and cycle around saltwater lakes and forest trails. In the evening, enjoy dinner with the crew and watch the sun set over the Adriatic.
Today we arrive in iconic Dubrovnik. Paddle around the city’s fortress walls on a kayak tour for the best views, then hit the cobbled streets on a guided walk through the Old Town. After dinner, we’ll check out the nightlife. One of the bars is inside a real medieval fortress.
We have a minimum age requirement of 18 years old to join the tour. Group members aged 16-17 years old are welcome to join the tour but only with a family member that will act as their guardian whilst on tour. Aside from that, no age requirements at all! While our target age is 20-45, what matters most is mindset. If you’re looking for a backpacking-style experience, with hostel-style stays, local transport, and optional evening activities - you’re welcome to join us.

The best time to visit is from May to September, when the weather is warm and sunny. These months are ideal for sailing and exploring the coast.
