Heading to Croatia for a sailing trip or coastal adventure? Here’s what you need to know about visa requirements before you go. Entry depends on your nationality, but good news — many travellers don’t need a visa at all.

Visa-Free Entry for Most Travellers

If you’re from the UK, USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, or an EU country, you can enter Croatia visa-free for up to 90 days within a 180-day period. Make sure your passport is valid for at least 3 months beyond your intended departure.

Entry Requirements

  • Valid passport
  • Proof of onward travel or return ticket
  • Proof of accommodation (e.g. hostel or hotel booking)

Part of the Schengen Area

As of 2023, Croatia is part of the Schengen Zone. That means your time in Croatia counts toward your total 90-day Schengen allowance if you're travelling in other parts of Europe too.

Staying Longer?

Planning to stay more than 90 days or do seasonal work? You’ll need a visa or residence permit arranged through the Croatian embassy or consulate in your home country.
