Are there any age restrictions for this tour?

We have a minimum age requirement of 18 years old to join the tour. Group members aged 16-17 years old are welcome to join the tour but only with a family member that will act as their guardian whilst on tour. Aside from that, no age requirements at all! While our target age is 20-45, what matters most is mindset. If you’re looking for a backpacking-style experience, with hostel-style stays, local transport, and optional evening activities - you’re welcome to join us.

What are the passport requirements?

Your passport must have at least six months’ validity and two blank pages. You should also have proof of onward travel.

Can you cater for my dietary requirements on this trip?

Yes, absolutely. Just let us know when you book your trip and we’ll make sure your dietary needs are taken care of so it doesn’t affect your experience.

What time shall I arrive on Day 1?

You can arrive any time on Day 1. There are no scheduled activities during the day, but there will be a welcome meal with the group at around 7 pm. Your guide will give you an overview of the trip, and you’ll have a chance to meet the group and do some fun icebreakers.

Are airport transfers included in the price of the tour?

Airport transfers are not included, but you can book one separately up to 30 days before your tour.

What visa do I need for Colombia?

Visa requirements depend on your nationality. Many travellers, including those from the UK, EU, and several other countries, can enter Colombia without a visa for up to 90 days. However, rules can change, so make sure to check the latest visa requirements before you travel.

What is the currency?

The currency used in Colombia is the Colombian Peso (COP).

What kind of accommodation is included on this trip?

The trip includes a mix of dormitory and twin-share accommodation. Six nights of the tour will be spent in dorms.

How do I get back to the start destination and is this included in the price?

You can fly from Cartagena back to Medellin. This flight is not included in the tour price. Cartagena’s main airport is Rafael Núñez International Airport (CTG), which operates both domestic and international flights.

Which airport do I need to fly into?

You’ll need to fly into Jose Maria Córdova International Airport (airport code: MDE).

Where does the trip start and finish?

The trip starts in Medellin and finishes in Cartagena.

Where do I update my arrival details?

Once you’ve booked your flights, log in to the Manage My Booking area of our website and enter your flight arrival details. If you’re arriving early, we can still arrange your airport transfer. If you also need extra nights of accommodation, let us know early so we can confirm availability and pricing.

Are flights included in the price?

International flights are not included in the price of any tour and will need to be booked separately. You’re free to book your own flights or book here.

How much spending money will I need?

Most things are covered, including activities, transport, accommodation, and some meals. You’ll just need money for extra meals, drinks, shopping, and any onward travel after the tour

Is travel insurance compulsory?

Yes! Travel insurance is a must for all our trips. You’ll need to show proof (on your phone or printed) to your group leader when you arrive.

How will I access money while I’m away?
