Included: all your accommodation, 5 meals, every activity on the itinerary, all transport between destinations, and your group leader for the full 10 days. There are no local payments and nothing to pay on the ground.
Not included: international flights, travel insurance (which is compulsory), your Australian visa, airport transfers, and spending money for the meals that are not listed, drinks, optional activities and shopping.
The minimum age is 18. Travellers aged 16-17 are welcome, but only alongside a family member acting as their guardian for the trip.
Beyond that there is no upper limit. Groups on this trip are typically 18 to 40s and come from all over the world. It is a backpacker-style trip — hostels, multi-share rooms, big nights out and a couple of early starts — so it suits people who are up for that.
Your group leader will email you around two weeks before you fly, with everything you need for day 1.

Best bet? Arrive on the start date. That’s when most of the group lands, and we all meet up for a welcome dinner around 7PM. There’s nothing scheduled during the day, so you’ve got time to settle in.

Airport transfers are not included on our Australia trips, at either end — you make your own way to the first night's accommodation, and to the airport when the tour finishes. Australian airports are generally close to the city and well served by train, taxi and rideshare, so it is an easy trip.
Once you have booked your flights, log in to the Manage My Booking area and drop in your arrival details so we know when you are landing. If you would like a hand arranging a transfer, just ask us.

Your passport must have at least six months’ validity and two blank pages. You should also have proof of onward travel.
Groups on our Australia trips run between 20 and 28 people, with a maximum of 28. Everyone is aged 18 to 40s and they come from all over the world, so the mix is different on every departure.
Most people book on their own, so if you are travelling solo you are in very good company. Your group leader will email you around two weeks before you fly, and you will be able to meet the rest of the group from there.
Budget-friendly, well-located hostels in multi-share rooms — clean, social, and full of other travellers. Solo travellers are roomed with someone of the same gender in twin rooms; multi-share rooms are usually mixed.
One night is different: the overnight coach from Sydney up to Byron Bay on day 3. You sleep on the bus and wake up on the coast, which saves you a day of the drive.

Wait until your tour is confirmed before booking anything non-refundable. We will email you as soon as it is, and most group tours are confirmed well ahead of departure.
Once it is confirmed, book to land in the city your tour starts in on the start date, and to fly home from the city it finishes in on the last day or later. We recommend Skyscanner for comparing fares.
A Working Holiday Visa lets you live and work in Australia for up to 12 months. You can work for one employer for up to 6 months, or longer if you split the time between two different employers.
The age limit depends on your passport: 18 to 30 for most nationalities, and 18 to 35 for a few, including the UK, Ireland, Canada, France, Denmark and Italy. Once it is approved you have a year to activate it.

Yep - everyone needs a visa to enter Australia. Most travellers join on a Working Holiday Visa or Visitor Visa, depending on your plans.

Yep! Do 88 days of seasonal work in regional Australia and you can apply for a 2nd year WHV. Use it anytime before you turn 31 (or 35 if you're from Canada, Ireland, the UK, France, Denmark, or Italy.).
International flights are not included in the price of any tour and will need to be booked separately. You’re free to book your own flights or book here.
Once you’ve booked your flights, log in to the Manage My Booking area of our website and enter your flight arrival details. That is how your group leader knows when you are landing.

For group tours, your place is confirmed once enough travellers have booked, and always at least four weeks (28 days) before your tour starts. Most group tours are confirmed around six months before departure.
For volunteer or private bookings, please allow 2-3 working days.
If a tour does not run, you get a full refund.
Backpack or suitcase? Totally up to you. But here’s the golden rule: pack light! We recommend keeping it under 20kg.

Most of the travelling is by public coach, including one overnight journey from Sydney up to Byron Bay. It is a long way up the east coast, and taking that leg overnight saves you a day of it.
All the transport between destinations is included in the price.
The trip finishes in Brisbane on the morning of day 10. You can fly out any time that day — just leave yourself plenty of time to reach the airport, as no transfer is included.
Staying on? Your group leader will help you work out what comes next, whether that is onward transport, more accommodation, getting back to Sydney, or finding work if you are here on a Working Holiday Visa.
