Introduction

The cultural week is recommended to anyone joining the volunteer centre in Hua Hin. Complete the Cultural week before your volunteer program and get to know other volunteers before you begin. Immerse yourself in Thai culture through various cultural activities. 

You can add this week from your account under 'Additional Trips + Extras', after you have booked a volunteer package based in Hua Hin, Thailand.

Cultural Excursions

This program is filled with cultural activities that will show you authentic Thailand. During the program, you’ll get a chance to explore several famous sights around Hua Hin, followed by Thai customs, language, cooking and Muay Thai lessons. Buddhism will play a big part in a visit to Buddhist temples (‘Wat’ in Thai) to learn about Thai Buddhism. Moreover, there are also visits scheduled to several local markets where you can witness the local Thai lifestyle and taste delicious food, delicacies and other products.

DAY 1

Welcome to your New Home

Welcome to Thailand, volunteers! We're thrilled to have you here and can't wait to see the impact you'll make in our community. But don't worry, it's not all work and no play! You'll have the opportunity to fully immerse yourself in Thai culture, try delicious new foods, and explore this beautiful country with your fellow volunteers. Our team is here to make sure your experience is smooth and enjoyable, so if you need anything, just let us know. Let's get ready for an incredible journey together!

DAY 2

A Cultural Taste of Thailand

On Monday, your day begins with breakfast before heading off to the Hin Lek Fai Viewpoint, which offers breathtaking views of Hua Hin. Then we visit a famous Buddhist temple, immersing you in the local culture. After a satisfying lunch, you will enjoy a free afternoon at Hua Hin beach, soaking up the sun and playing in the waves. In the evening, there is a party featuring local children performing traditional Thai dance, allowing you to experience local customs firsthand.

DAY 3

Temple Teachings

Tuesday will with giving food to the monks in the early morning before exploring the Khao Takiab Temple and receiving a brief introduction to Buddhist rituals. After lunch, volunteers will have free time to spend at Sai Noi Beach before dinner. Today is an excellent opportunity to gain insight into the daily life of Thai monks, learn about local customs and rituals, and explore some of Thailand's most beautiful beaches.

DAY 4

Tantalising Your Tastebuds

On Wednesday, start the day with breakfast before visiting the Artist Village and the famous Hua Hin Train Station. In the afternoon, visit the market to buy ingredients for your Thai cooking lesson. Learn how to make traditional dishes and enjoy your delicious creations for lunch. In the afternoon, you have free time to relax at Sea Pine Beach before ending the day with a dinner and a Thai language lesson, allowing you to better connect with the locals.

DAY 5

Helping Hands

On Thursday, you will start the day with breakfast before embarking on an excursion to Pranburi Forest Park. You will have the opportunity to clean the beach in this park, which is famous for its mangrove plantations. After a well-deserved lunch break, you can enjoy some free time at Pranburi Beach before being transferred back to the centre. The day will end with a delicious dinner.

DAY 6

Tongue-twisting Thai Workout

On Friday, you will start the day with a Thai language lesson followed by a Muay Thai lesson. After lunch, you will go on a trek up to Khao Kalok Hill, where you will enjoy the stunning view from the top. You will then have some free time to relax at Khao Kalok Beach. Dinner will be served back at the center, where you can reflect on the new language and sport skills you've learned and the wonderful views you've seen throughout the day.

Choose Your Own Adventure!

The weekend is time for you to spread your wings a little, if you’re up for it. We’ve equipped you with some language basics, introduced you to the local cuisine… now lets see where that can get you! You’re free to organise any adventure you care to, or simply chill ahead of the volunteer work. We can offer advice on where to go, if you need it.
